As in previous years the Volvo Enthusiasts Club once again took a stand at this end of year show, organised by Nationwide Exhibitions at the Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
This year we celebrated the 50th birthday of the Volvo P1800 and our exhibits covered the production span of the 1800 Coupe’s from the early P1800 to the final 1800E. Cars on show were Kevin’s famous ‘HAB’ a 1962 Jensen West Bromwich, England built P1800 which has covered a staggering ½ Million Miles on its original engine, gearbox and rear axle. This is used by Kevin as everyday transport.
The other 1800 was Simon Biddlecombe’s beautifully restored 1970 Volvo 1800E, which he had only recently finished a complete rebuild.
There was much interest in both cars and Kevin spent some time T Cutting and polishing the P1800 while answering the visitors many questions about the cars, club etc.
Our thanks to Simon and Kevin for manning the Club Stand at this year’s Show;
