Building a Club stand – The Lion, the Witch and the Volvo in the Wardrobe –

Christmas to New Year 2005.

As with previous years, once again myself and a band of helpers could be found hard at work over the period between Christmas and New Year building our stand for the 2006 Classic Car Show Season.

This year we had decided to follow the popular and topical theme of the Adventures of Narnia, with a slight twist and so produce a scene entitled, ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Volvo in the Wardrobe’.

The set included the painting of eight backboards showing winter and summer scenes and a wardrobe from which a Volvo could emerge! It is without doubt, I feel, one of our best displays we have built so far and my thanks once again must go to Dave and Jackie Hunter and their son in law Dave for all their hard work – I promise next year it will be easier.
